Portman jazz bar closed for renovations

I’m a bit late in reporting this one, but better late than never, right?  The word on the street is that the jazz bar on the second floor of the Portman Ritz-Carlton, where Danny Woody has been the music manager for at least half a decade, is undergoing renovations for two months only, after which Danny will return revitalized and ostensibly with a few new players too.  The band finished playing at the end of December 2007, so it’s already been without live music for a couple weeks now.  If I get wind of a target re-opening date I will be sure and announce it here first.

In the meantime, I believe Danny will continue singing with the big band on Saturday nights at JZ Club.
