Beijing jazz festival coming up
At the end of May, Beijing’s Ninegates Jazz Festival will commence, and a few of us from Shanghai will be making our way up there to join in the festivities.?? Organized by bass player Huang Yong, the festival promises to be quite full of interesting music from the Mainland and abroad.?? I will be playing with the Lawrence Ku Septet as well as the Andy Hunter group (quintet I think), which are playing on the 28th and 29th as far as I know now.
Other than that, the only source of info I have about the festival up there is this article from Xinhua.?? I’ll let you know if I get any more info.
