After a two-year stint playing at the Portman Ritz-Carlton, Billy Marcus is actually leaving Shanghai. Luckily, he intends to return in a relatively short time, perhaps to freelance or maybe work another hotel gig. In any case his contract out there is only 3 months long, and his plane ticket brings him back to Shanghai so he’ll have to come back at least for a little bit. We all saw him off at JZ tonight for a final night of jamming and debauchery before he gets on the plane tomorrow (today).
I just had to post this picture of him again, because it’s my favorite shot of him. I took it on stage one time and the way it came out makes it look like he’s on fire…which fits so well to his playing style. I already posted it once but this occasion warrants it again…
