The quintet at jazz club number five, “Five Below” is out of work for about two weeks while the club gets its paperwork together. The police showed up at the club recently, asking for copies of the musicians’ work visas and the club’s performance license…only some of which we were able to produce. Of course “only some” was not enough to appease these officials, so now we are in the process of lining up the rest of the necessary documentation.
It should be only two weeks before everything is all set, and the band will be back playing every tuesday through sunday from mid-June. Until then, we will have some local musicians filling in, as it is only foreigners they are worried about.
When Five Below returns to the stage we will have Marc Neihof joining us on the bass, Victor Noriega on the piano, and Chris Trczinski will be playing drums. It will be an exciting time of renewed creativity and inspiration…
